On the weekend we got away and it was so sweet...
So sweet!
I heard the birds singing.
I heard the sound of silence.
I heard the sound of a sunset.
I heard my babies laughing.
And I heard them. Just like a always do.
Life caught me again.
The pull to forget it all consumed me briefly and then I found it again with a new focus to keep it real and close by.
I went for a sunset walk with my cherub and I am sure beauty runs deeper when you feel it in each breath.
Can I always manage to keep that in check?
Damn I hope so.

I was just reading your last post - I feel like that so often these days Amber - stretched to the absolute limit...
It 'is' intense when they are young - it's FULL ON all day around here, there's always someone needing me and always something needing to be done.
But then I am so lucky to have my eldest girl, at 14, racing towards adulthood and her presence reminds me each day how fleeting early childhood is... it seems not so long ago she was a busy 3-yr-old like Melli, or taking her first steps like Maddison... I do wish it could slow down enough some days to fully appreciate all of its intense beauty. Or maybe I need to just take that moment to slow down myself and take it all in... your post has reminded me how important that is, thank you.
Sounds like you got a chance over the weekend to do that too.
